Not Pushing From Behind!

Leadership has certainly evolved over the years and it has been both good and bad at times.  Leaders who lead from the front create some of the most successful companies.  Those who have visionary leaders who evoke such a strong heart-felt company cadence that it captivated both the employees as well as the customer base. Passion is something you either have or you don’t. Passion is contagious and the leaders who aren’t passionate don’t have a very long shelf life.  The most amazing leaders have the ability to inspire extraordinary work out of ordinary people.  Some of the most profound leaders of all times are Steve Jobs of Apple, Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines and Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway.

Steve Jobs created a movement within Apple so that even when he was forced out of his own company they had to bring him back.  Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines inspired his team to hang on and to stay with him despite years of court battles with American Airlines.  Warren Buffet is one of the oldest leaders and hit his stride later in life but is one of the most beloved and respected leaders. These leaders faced incredible obstacles but pushed forward and turned their companies into iconic brands.

These leaders lead from the front and not from micromanaging from the back.  We all know and have had the boss that micromanaged and scrutinized everything we did. Technology and education have ushered in a new mentality. Today’s successful leaders create a culture and cadence abundant with  enthusiasm, integrity and education. Honesty and keeping your team informed are ways to keep fear and negativity at bay. Creating a company culture that is inclusive and positive is a win/win for employees, customers and for profits.
